The Virtual Mind Centre is an online virtual clinic, providing psychological services, including telehealth assessment and treatment, psycho-social recovery support sessions and/or vocational counselling. We can support adults and young people with a variety of challenges, including:
We adopt an eclectic and individualised approach to our sessions with you, which are tailored to support your individual needs. We draw on evidenced based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness that are targeted to support your individual needs.
Whether or not this is your first therapeutic experience, or you have tried therapy previously, it can feel daunting starting a new therapeutic journey. We will create a safe place for you to share and grow at your own pace.
Therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with someone trained to help you make sense of them. It can help you identify your values and find meaning and purpose.
Build on existing coping skills or learn new skills to manage stress, anxiety and other challenges.
We'll create a space to reflect—on your thoughts, feelings, reactions, and patterns—without judgment. We might gently challenge your assumptions, ask questions you might not think to ask yourself, and help you connect the dots between your past experiences and your current behavior. Over time, you start to notice your triggers, understand your needs better, and recognize why you do what you do.
Whether it be intimate partners, family friends or colleagues, Therapy can help explore your communication style, attachment patterns, and emotional triggers. We can explore tools to express yourself more clearly, listen more deeply, set healthy boundaries, and respond rather than react.
Telehealth is a means of delivering therapy online and virtually (via video or telephone). Telehealth is approved as a valid method of service delivery for Medicare, NDIS recipients, and WorkCover claims. Private Insurance also accepts Telehealth as a valid treatment modality (depending on your level of cover).
Therapists bring their own therapeutic lense and style to the therapy space that might not be the right fit for you. This doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you or that you should stop therapy, but it means you might need to find a therapist that works better with you. If this happens, talk to us, and where possible, we will help to refer you on to someone who might be a better fit.
Its normal to feel anxious or worried about what your first session might look like, especially if you have not engaged in therapy previously. Your first session gives us the opportunity to learn about what you need help with. We will ask you some questions, however we take it at a pace that you are comfortable with.
